p.e. independent study reflection

The third quarter is coming to a close; it ends on Thursday, and the fourth quarter begins on Friday. The end of the third quarter also marks the culmination of my P.E. Independent Study. I have sincerely enjoyed my Independent Study, primarily because got to decide how the credit was fulfilled. My teacher was cooperative, encouraging, and enthusiastic about my ideas, plans, and discoveries, which also made the course more enjoyable and inviting. (Thanks, Mr. T., for allowing me flexibility throughout my Independent Study!) If I were to do my Independent Study again, I would set a more definite schedule for completing my projects during the Projects Phase to ensure efficiency and productiveness. Other than that, I am very happy with my P.E. Independent Study experience!

Below is a round-up of my Weekly Workout Reflections, which I wrote once a week during the Workout Phase of my Independent Study.

Below are pdf links to the two projects (and their Works Cited pages) that I completed for the Projects Phase of my Independent Study. I researched the Gluten-Free and Paleo Diets and if these diets could be beneficial to athletes.

And, of course, my daily workouts can be seen on the Workout Log and Old Workout Log pages!

  1. Paleo diets are based on a simple premise—if the cavemen didn’t eat it, you shouldn’t either. So long to refined sugar, dairy, legumes, and grains (this is pre-agricultural revolution); hello to meat, fish, poultry, fruits, and veggies. What you eat and how much depend on your goals or the specific program you’re on, if you choose to follow one.”
